Built with precision kinematics and descending prowess on the mind, the Norco Optic is short on travel, not on fun. The frame gives us the perfect balance of strength, responsiveness, and trail feel thanks to the combination of a durable aluminum rear triangle and a lightweight carbon front triangle. 125mm of Horst Link rear travel is supported by a custom-tuned RockShox Super Deluxe Ultimate DH rear shock for an intuitive ride feel that doesn't sacrifice any traction or plushness so we can lap our favorite descent without feeling like we spent five rounds in the ring. The Optic's geometry numbers are more typically found on enduro bike, but here they lend to the bike's work hard, play harder attitude. Featuring a slack 65-degree headtube angle for stability at speed and a steep 76-degree seat tube angle to get us into a comfortable and efficient pedaling position, the Optic begs to slash berms and send chunky rock gardens. Plus, size-specific chainstays ensure that no matter how tall we are and what size we choose, we get to experience the same playful ride.
This Norco Optic C2 kit is built with reliability at the forefront. The SRAM 12-speed GX Eagle drivetrain shifts crisply and reliably no matter how bad the conditions get, and a pair of low-maintenance 4-piston DB8 brakes ensure we have the ability to modulate our speed through technical chutes with absolute precision. A smartly spec'd RockShox Pike Select+ with 140mm gives us the confidence to send adrenaline-inducing descents, while a pair of 29er Stan's Flow S1 wheels let us roll up and over anything we find on trail with ease. With its aggressive geometry and kitted-out spec, the Norco Optic C2 SRAM Mountain Bike punches way above its weight class."

"Despite what the 125mm of rear travel has us thinking, the Norco Optic isn't our Lycra-clad buddy's cross-country bike. The Optic is designed for taking on hard-charging descents, pedaling right back up to the top, and doing it all over again. The frame is a combination of a lightweight carbon front triangle and a durable aluminum rear triangle giving us the perfect balance of strength and responsiveness. The Horst Link rear suspension system gets paired with a custom-tuned Fox Performance Elite FLOAT DPX2 rear shock making the 125mm of travel seem endless on the descents.
