Tech Specs
"Why We Like The SB130 CLR GX Eagle Mountain Bike
By taking the trail-taming SB130 and bumping up the front and rear travel, Yeti gives us an absolute weapon of a bike with the SB130 Lunch Ride. The extra travel and slacker angles make this a formidable machine for enduro racing and tackling big hits at the bike park. That being said, it retains the nimble handling and lightweight feel that makes it a more practical daily driver than the SB150.
Travel-wise, the SB130 LR gets 137mm in the rear and 160mm in the front, a 7 and 10mm increase over the standard SB130, respectively. This also slackens the head tube for a bit more stability at high speeds, letting us charge harder as we make our way down the mountain. The bike uses Yeti's Switch Infinity suspension platform, which we've always regarded as one of the best-performing options on the market. It remains firm under pedaling without losing sensitivity over bumps, and when it comes time to descend, the travel feels smooth and deep.
Yeti offers two different levels with its carbon frames, with this bike utilizing the lower level C-series carbon. It's not a bad thing really, it just lets Yeti hit a lower price point add the cost of a few hundred grams of weight. In fact, the ride quality is on par with the higher-grade TURQ frames, and the weight difference is very hard to distinguish while riding. Regardless, Yeti bikes feel light and snappy on the trail and they're certainly lighter than many of their competitors, as the brand is focused on crafting some of the world's best race bikes.
